The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly!

This section was created to take a look at features and see how they stack up.

LARGE PLATES vs. SMALL PLATES: In order to use larger plates inside of a machine, it costs significantly more money to make the machine.  The manufacturer can either spring for the extra platinum, or they can simply use small plates and more power.  Larger plates cost the manufacturer more money, because platinum is not cheap, but this is the preferred method for ionization.
THE GOOD: Large mesh plates that are at least 6 inches by 3.5 inches long.
THE BAD: Small mesh plates.
THE UGLY: Solid plates in any capacity.  Solid plates simply won’t provide the same level of ionization as large mesh plates.

FILTERS: There is a lot of talk about filtration these days. A machine with only one filter is almost unheard of, so we don’t even think single filter machines should be considered. Simply put, a single filter won’t cut it when it comes to cleaning your water to a level that we find acceptable. Also, any filter that has inorganic minerals in it should be strongly considered. Inorganic minerals are very expensive, and some manufactures offer them for a great benefit to you. Normally, inorganic minerals cannot be absorbed by the body, but when inorganic minerals go through the electrolysis process in a water ionizer, they become ionic electrolytes which are easy to absorb and extremely good for you.
THE GOOD: Larger internal filters with inorganic minerals which can be converted through ionization process into ionic electrolytes.
THE BAD: Small internal filters (look at the physical size of the filter) without sufficient ability to remove harmful water contaminants.
THE UGLY: Single filtration and especially anything with calcium sulphite in it. Enagic™ uses calcium sulphite in their filters now and calcium sulphite (calcium sulfite) is extremely bad for you.

POWER: There is much talk about power these days as well. The truth is, The more power the better. You want to be sure that you have plates that are large enough to support the power.
THE GOOD: An SMPS power system that is adjustable for hard water. Anything over 250 watts is fantastic and will produce extreme water if needed.
THE BAD: An SMPS power system with less than 250 watts.
THE UGLY: A transformer. Transformers are old, outdated, antiquated, and they get hot which is not good. In addition to that, they require much more power to function. Don’t even think about a machine with a transformer.

PRICE: We are just throwing this in for a rule of thumb.
THE GOOD:A machine that ranges from $2000.00 to $3000.00 should be considered a great machine at a good value as long as the power, plates, and filters are up to par.
THE BAD: Cheap machines. You may think you are saving yourself money now, but you will likely need to buy 5 or 6 of the cheap machines to get it them to last.
THE UGLY: A machine over $3000.00 is outrageous. There is nothing inside these machines (regardless of what any MLM company representative tells you) that warrants that kind of money. When you start getting closer to $4000.00 it is almost like a bad joke. We still can’t believe that people allow themselves to get talked into spending $4000.00 based on scare tactics.

WARRANTY & TRIAL: This is another thing that blew us away.

THE GOOD: A 5 year warranty and at least a 60 day trial. Expect a 15%-20% restocking fee.
THE BAD: A machine with less than a 5 year warranty, or a 30 day trial.
THE UGLY: A machine with a 3 day return policy. Be sure to ask about this. You may be getting told all kinds of things to justify spending $4000.00 for a water ionizer, but remember, you only get 3 days to try it. Generally in 5-7 days, you will realize that you spent about $2000.00 too much. Remember, good companies give you 60 days to try it, do you think they would give you 60 days if they ever got returns? Go with the less expensive machine and the longer trial, and use the other $2000.00 that you saved to go on vacation.
