Bob Says…Caution: Avoid Knockoff Filters at ALL COSTS!
Hi folks! This is Bob from Ionizer Research. Today we’re going to talk about the danger of knock-off filters and why you should steer clear of them when replacing your ionizer filters.
Why do you need to replace filters?
Now, filters don’t last forever and all filters degrade over time. You’ll need to replace your water ionizer’s filters at some point. In fact, it’s one of the most important things about ionizer maintenance. Ensuring that your filters are replaced regularly after a period of use or time as advised by your ionizer’s manufacturer is important if you want to keep getting clean alkaline water from your ionizer. If the filters in your ionizer get mold, the water quality from your ionizer can drop, and that’s definitely not something you’d want.
Avoid knock-off filters at all costs
When it comes to replacing your water ionizer’s filters, do not go for knock-off or replica filters. These filters may look like the original or claim to work with your ionizer but using them could damage your ionizer, so I strongly advise you to avoid them at all costs. In addition, using these filters may void your ionizer warranty, so be really careful.
These filters are pretty common and sold online on sites like e-Bay, and they may even cost less than the replacement filters offered by the ionizer manufacturer itself. However, what they don’t tell you is that these filters actually use a different media (filtration membrane) than what your water ionizer originally used.
High-quality ionizers use special ultra-filtration membranes in their filters. Most of these knock-off filters use low-grade media like carbon dust instead of the 0.01 micron filter membranes which originally came installed with your water ionizer if you’re using a premium ionizer. Note that a 0.01 micron filter allows for ultra-filtration, which is the preferred water purification method. Without ultra-filtration, your ionizer won’t be able to remove heavy metals, chlorine, suspended solids or other harmful chemicals. These knock-off filters will at best give you a fraction of the purification you get from 0.01 micron filters or maybe even less that!
Purchase filters directly from the ionizer manufacturer
Whatever machine you purchase or already own, always go back to that company directly to purchase your replacement filters. Plus, some companies even offer auto-ship and filter club membership benefits. Don’t get fooled by the low price of those knock-off filters. When you invest in a water ionizer for your health, it’s important that you don’t let your investment go to waste by using low-quality filters. Take care of your ionizer so it keeps giving you clean alkaline water. Always order replacement filters directly from your machine’s manufacturer or their authorized sellers.
