Bottled water or a water ionizer? Which is the better option? I've been thinking about…
Bob Raves…My Best Water Ionizer Picks for 2023
Hi, there! It’s Bob from Ionizer Research. 2023 is almost here folks, so it’s time to get you acquainted with the newest and best quality water ionizer machines you’ll be seeing in the market in 2023.
For those who don’t know this yet, Water ionizers are electrical appliances that convert normal tap water from our water supply to a healthier water called ionized alkaline water. Drinking ionized alkaline water instead of regular water is healthy and highly recommended by health professionals because it’s loaded with antioxidants. Everyone should have a water ionizer machine in their house.
Today, I’ll share with you my personal picks for 2023. After careful consideration and testing these ionizers, here are my picks that managed to stand out among the rest of the brands. Here they are!
#1 – Tyent ACE-13 and UCE-13
These two models never cease to amaze me with their exceptional performance. Of all the ionizers I’ve tested and used, these two models have always outperformed other ionizers in terms of efficiency and quality.
In fact, the UCE-13 is the model that I have in my own kitchen, and I would never trade it in for a different machine quite honestly. Both models are equipped with state-of-the-art Solid/Mesh Hybrid Plates which you won’t find in water ionizers from any other brand.
When I tested these models, both ionizers showed a significantly higher alkaline water pH in comparison to other units. Additionally, both models are able to produce alkaline water with therapeutic levels of molecular hydrogen because of Tyent’s Xtreme Molecular Hydrogen Boost technology.
Only a handful of water ionizers have the ability to produce hydrogen water and these two units are one of them. If you don’t already know this, let me tell you that molecular hydrogen has countless amounts of health benefits. Over the years, more than 1000 clinical studies have been conducted on the subject.
The studies show the extraordinarily positive impact it has on our health. At present, Tyent is the only company with ionizer machines capable of producing therapeutic levels of molecular hydrogen alkaline water.
Both models use a dual-filtration system and special filters called DIALIPURE filters, which consist of ceramic filters with a 0.01 micron. This type of 0.01 micron filter allows for ultra-filtration, which is the same type of filtration used in kidney dialysis machines.
Tyent’s dual filters do an excellent job in purifying the water and are able to remove bacteria, chlorine, heavy metals, rust and other suspended solids.
Moreover, both models feature a beautiful smartphone inspired LCD touch screen interface with an array of functions and features.
Pros
- High pH alkaline water
- Can produce therapeutic levels of molecular hydrogen alkaline water
- Solid/Mesh Hybrid plates
- Uses SMPS Plus power supply
- Uses dual DIALIPURE Ultra Filtration technology
- Chemical-Free
Cons
- Their tech department is only available Monday – Friday. However, they make up for that by staying open late during the week.
#2 – Evontis Elite Water Ionizer
Evontis functions as an MLM ionizer company. While their key unit may not be as good as the Tyent models we’ve discussed above, it certainly outperforms many of the other water ionizer units, especially the Kangen SD-501.
Equipped with 9 plates and a modern power supply, the Evontis Elite water ionizer was able to produce alkaline water with a much higher pH than its Enagic counterpart, the SD-501.
Also, Evontis uses dual filters in its water ionizer as compared to its Kangen counterpart which uses a single carbon/calcium sulfite filter.
However, one thing Evontis and Kangen have in common is their multi-level marketing strategy (MLM), which means if you buy an Evontis Elite ionizer, then you’ll have to pay extra money for their MLM commissions. This means that just like Kangen, the Evontis is a little bit overpriced and hence it might not be a desirable option for a lot of people.
Pros
- High pH alkaline water
- Dual-filtration
Cons
- Multi-level marketing model
#3 – Kangen K8
The Kangen K8 is able to do a really good job in producing medium pH alkaline water. So, it’s not a very bad choice to choose this ionizer. However, you do need to know that the technology in Kangen ionizers is more than 10 years old and is considered very primitive when compared to modern ionizer brands like Tyent.
They still use solid plates in their ionizers, which are not so good at producing high pH alkaline water. Besides that, Kangen has an MLM structure so anyone who ends up buying a Kangen ionizer, also has to pay a lot of extra money to support their MLM structure.
One of the features that we wish Kangen would change is to update their technology in order to remove the need for the use of chemicals in their water ionizers. For those of you not familiar with Kangen, each of their ionizers requires the use of harsh chemicals to be added in order to reach high pH and low pH levels. If the chance of drinking chemicals (similar to bleach) bothers you, but you still want strong pH levels, then stick to buying a water ionizer from Tyent or Evontis.
Pros
- Medium pH alkaline water
Cons
- Ionizer technology hasn’t been updated
- Not durable (internal components breaks easily)
- Multi-level marketing model
- Needs chemicals to reach high and low pH levels
#4 – Alkaviva/Jupiter Athena
When compared to Kangen and Tyent, this unit certainly leaves much to be desired, but it is capable of producing adequate alkaline pH levels, which is why it made our list.
It uses dual filtration, which is good because it ensures the water is purer. This feature gives them a one-up over Kangen units.
However, the main issue with this model is that it still uses an outdated weak power supply system as compared to modern ionizers which use SMPS, or the much newer SMPS Plus. A weak power supply means the ionizer won’t be able to produce the best quality of alkaline water with molecular hydrogen.
Pros
- High pH alkaline water
- Dual filtration
Cons
- Uses outdated power supply which in turn reduces water quality
- Little or no molecular hydrogen
- Small filters that don’t last
#5 – Chanson Miracle MAX
Chanson’s Miracle MAX water ionizer is able to produce high pH alkaline water, so it is worth an honorable mention here.
It also uses an SMPS power supply, which enables it to produce decent pH water. However, the ionizer also uses mineral salts to inflate the pH and make it alkaline. So, the water produced by this ionizer is NOT pure ionized alkaline water.
It’s not of the same quality one would expect from more respected brands like Tyent and Kangen.
If you decide to try Chanson, be sure to add on pre-filters because this ionizer uses a single 1-micron filter, which is not much filtration, and it won’t be able to remove a lot of harmful chemicals.
Pros
- Decent pH alkaline water levels
- Uses SMPS power supply
- Good for people on a budget
Cons
- Uses mineral salts to inflate water pH
- Uses one single 1-micron filter
When it comes to water ionizers, there are a lot of brands…but only a few machines are able to offer top-level performance. Which water ionizer unit do you think is the best in the market? Leave your answer in the comments section below.
