How to Choose a Water Ionizer

Today is the big day: you’re finally set on getting your own water ionizer. Hooray! But before choosing a machine to enhance the quality of your water and home space, there are a lot of factors you need to think about.

All water ionizers are capable of turning your tap water into alkaline water through the process of electrolysis, but not all can meet your specific needs and preferences.

 

Look at your tap water quality and household space

As you prepare to select the ionizer of your dreams, you first need to know what’s really going on with your water at home. Knowing the facts will help you determine key requirements for your ionizers and any pre-filters you might get – including, among others, their size, filter strength, and manufacturer.

To do this, you can call your municipal water supplier to find out more about the state of your tap water. Some ionizer companies also offer free water report services.

Next, you have to determine where you want your ionizer to be, how small or large this space is, and whether or not you can or want to modify your plumbing. Think about the specs and features of your ideal water ionizer

Nowadays, the water ionizer industry has loads of models available, ranging from luxurious platinum-coated machines to basic and budget-friendly units. While you may not plan to get the most high-end water ionizer out there, it’s worth looking at some of the higher-priced units if because they will probably cost you less in the long run.

The reason why is because some of the premium companies give you a long warranty, and sometimes even a lifetime warranty that covers parts and labor. In addition, in most cases they’re safer because better metals that don’t leach are used. In addition, you could probably finance it too.

Be sure to do a bit of research and select a model based on what you need and what’s important to you. Some of the most important and common specs and features include:

 

Over the counter or under the counter?

If you have enough room in your kitchen and you like a stylish appliance that you can show off, you can get one of the bigger countertop models. A countertop water ionizer also means that you’ll only have to deal with connecting the unit to your faucet. If you want to save counter space and prefer a hidden setup, go for an under-counter model.

 

Durability and credibility of its parts

Regardless of what features you’re looking for, be mindful of where your water ionizer and its parts come from. A lot of ionizers that aren’t made in Japan and Korea tend to use cheaper and less sturdy materials, leading to the eventual breakage of their parts. That’ll just expose you to dangerous metals and chemicals that your water ionizers are supposed to remove.

 

Power of its filtration

No matter the price range you’re looking at, I always recommend going for ionizers with two large ultra filters and ceramic material. This is the new industry standard – anything less than that isn’t powerful and efficient.

Additionally, not all filters are able to remove the same kinds and amounts of substances, so this is a factor you need to consider, as well. Do you want an ionizer that only gets rid of the harshest chemicals, or do you want one that removes virtually all contaminants and particles from your water? Be sure to check the filter reports and claims of the companies so you don’t get deceived.

 

 

 

Number and quality of plates

Electrolysis is the heart of an ionizer’s function, and it can’t accomplish its mission if its components aren’t up-to-date. Many companies offer ionizers with 5, 9, 11, and even 13 plates. Remember, the larger and more numerous the plates, the better.

More importantly, make sure that an ionizer’s plates are sturdy! The best plates out there are Solid/Mesh hybrids made of medical-grade platinum-coated titanium and are double or triple dipped. Some companies use only either solid or mesh, which may make their plates more prone to damage and less likely to perform excellently. Extra features

While not totally necessary, getting an effective ionizer with cool features can make your investment even more exciting. Last but not least, you need to remember that a water ionizer is only as good as its creator and distributor. Make sure that you buy from reliable, easily approachable businesses that’ve had years of experience in the industry. Many of them offer substantial promos and customizable financing programs that let you spend far less money on a spectacular product. Buying from newer companies means that you risk getting a machine that lacks business and health certifications and – worse! – replacement filters and other ionizer parts.

What’s even more concerning is the fact that some companies are actually elaborate MLMs or pyramid schemes that charge exorbitant prices on less than stellar machines just so that they could pay commissions. Others are transparent about how they conduct business with both customers and dealers and are happy to be there for you before, during, and after your purchase. For me, honestly is always the best policy because how truthful a company is about their practices and technology directly reflects how accommodating they’ll be to their customers.

A brand’s product warranty also speaks volumes about its character and the caliber of their machines.
